These United States
A Picture of the Three of Us at the Gate of the Garden of Eden

Hailing from the heart of the Empire, These United States have patched together a sense of indie-folk rock that takes the listener on a twisted journal through time, space and sound. Combining story-book narrations with wishful vocals, These United States have crafted an album perfect for ending this gloomy winter weather. I'm going to nominate ...At the Gate of the Garden of Eden as the new best Twilight Driving album of the year, going through the hills in this area, best friend in tow, conversation going anywhere from dead baby jokes (yes, I went there) to serious talks about life; the album is the soundtrack for our postmodern generation's discussions of life within our American Empire. "First Sight" is a whimsical journey into the awkwardness of love, while"Burn This Bridge" brings you out of the winter reality into a hope of spring. The plus side to "Burn this Bride" is that you are able to sing with it while intoxicated; seriously there is a listng of people credited as Drunk Warbles. Always a plus in my book.
